/* Country flags in the signup phone picker.

THE FLAGS ARE UNICODE, NOT IMAGES. Each is the country's two ISO letters
shifted into the "regional indicator" block — see `dial_codes.flag` — so there
is no sprite, no 250 SVGs, and no table of pictures to get wrong. The same
string works inside the text box and inside the list, which images could not:
an <input> can only hold text.

WHICH IS WHY THIS FONT EXISTS. Windows does not draw flag emoji — Segoe UI
Emoji ships no flag glyphs — so a Windows browser renders the pair as the two
letters "SA" in boxes. That is precisely the shortcut the product owner asked
to replace, and Windows is plausibly most of a Saudi corporate fleet, so
skipping it would have fixed the picker for the half of the audience that was
   least likely to complain.

`unicode-range` IS THE SAFETY. The browser only reaches for this font for the
regional-indicator codepoints (plus the tag sequences used by the England /
Scotland / Wales flags), so no letter, digit or Arabic character anywhere on
the page is ever drawn from it. It also means the file is only DOWNLOADED on a
page that actually contains a flag.

Prepended to `var(--font)` rather than to a written-out stack, so the Arabic
page — which redefines `--font` to IBM Plex Sans Arabic — keeps its own text
face with no second rule to keep in step.

LICENCE. The font is from `country-flag-emoji-polyfill` 0.1.8 (MIT, TalkJS).
The flag artwork inside it is Twemoji, © Twitter / X Corp., licensed CC-BY 4.0

attribution that licence asks for. Vendored rather than loaded from a CDN, for
the reason Alpine and Quill are: `font-src` allows 'self', and a picker whose
flags depend on a third party being up is a picker that shows boxes when it
   is not. */
